The days of the late 90s and 2000s are over and paid archiving software is really a thing of the past unless you've become ultra-accustomed to software with older interfaces like WinRAR. And yet, these shareware programs seem to thrive. It's surprising since such flexible and feature-packed freeware programs like PeaZip exist now.
PeaZip is an open-source solution for packing and unpacking Zip files, RAR files, ACE files and much more. It integrates well into Windows Explorer and is pretty fast at what it does. We haven't seen it crash yet and the overall design of PeaZip is just excellent.
Instead of paying for archiving programs, give this open-source freeware a try and think again.PeaZip features and highlights:
PeaZip is licensed as Freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system / platform from file archivers without restrictions. PeaZip 6.6.0 is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
Compatibility with this file archiver software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version of PeaZip may be available from Giorgio Tani.
We have tested PeaZip 6.6.0 against malware with several different programs. We certify that this program is clean of viruses, malware and trojans. [Read more]
